Welcome to CivicSciTV
The Civic Science Television (CivicSciTV) Network is a civic science journalism initiative built by the Civic Science Media Lab in the Sai Resident Collective (SRC). The main goal is to serve as a catalyst for broader awareness and deep understanding of the rapidly developing issues and topics within civic science around the world by:
- Bringing to the forefront the newest thinking and actionable ideas from diverse experts through thought-provoking interviews;
- Sharing news generated by diverse civic science stakeholders and organizations in the field;
- Enhancing the visibility of the leaders and their innovative initiatives connecting people to science;
We are driven to bring the latest perspectives/updates from experts, founders, participants and practitioners worldwide. At the end of the day, it is about shining light on new ideas and initiatives that connect people to science, gathering actionable insights, and increasing knowledge-sharing among stakeholders in the field around the world;
Primary Audience: Prospective and current founders, funders, leaders, decision-makers, and practitioners involved in civic science (public engagement with science, science communication, science journalism, community science, etc);
Secondary Audience: Broader publics.

We ask piercing questions to both founders and relevant experts regarding the design of their programs and discuss recent updates on their progress + reactions to other news in the field through exclusive interviews.
Expeditions to Events &
Conferences
Where possible, we travel to events and conferences as part of expeditions to have face-to-face interactions with founders, experts, and participants involved in initiatives that are connecting people to science.

We engage authors of new articles and ask them to break down their work with the aim of unearthing actionable insights that founders, participants, and other stakeholders can use in their work.

In the CivicSciTV Network, we consider independence a fundamental and central principle in our ability to conduct effective civic science journalism. We firmly believe that maintaining independence is essential to uphold our work’s integrity, credibility, and trustworthiness. We are grateful for the support from various funding sources, including donations from members of the public, grants from foundations and government agencies, and paid sponsorships. However, our team of journalists and analysts, not the financial supporters of the network, are ultimately responsible for determining what topics we cover and the approach we adopt in our work.
