New Society Art Gallery Receives First Grant

Written by Anita Kenney

We are delighted to announce that we have received our first grant! The Biochemical Society has awarded the STEM Advocacy Institute a $1,000 grant which will be used to build a comprehensive database, showcasing the previously unpublished scientific images of biologists from around the world, as works of art. SAi’s New Society Art Gallery will house this first-ever collection which will allow users from anywhere in the world to quickly search and find images of molecules, compounds, cells and more, along with descriptions detailing the story behind them. Select images will be featured in a local gallery exhibit to usher in the opening of the database and give the community an opportunity to meet some of the scientists behind the images.

The Biochemical Society is a UK-based organization that promotes the future of molecular biosciences by facilitating the sharing of expertise, supporting the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology, and raising awareness of their importance in society.
