ASAPbio is a scientist-driven nonprofit working to promote innovation and transparency in life sciences publishing by promoting the productive use of preprints and published peer review. While these innovations require technical changes, they rest more seriously on changing behaviors and attitudes among scientists. In this discussion, we’ll review some of the literature on the establishment and modification of norms and discuss how this knowledge can be applied to improving the practice of science.
