Earlier this month, our eighth cohort of SAi Fellows had the opportunity to present the work they have been conducting in the realms of STEM engagement, education, outreach, and science communication at our biannual event, Pitch Day. People from all walks of the STEM community joined SAi on Zoom or via our Livestream to hear each SAi Fellow’s pitch about their projects.
The SAi Fellows program seeks to provide mentorship and funding to those with novel early-stage ideas that build or strengthen bridges between science and society. Fellows receive a base of knowledge in theory, design, implementation, and evaluation, enabling them to build impactful and sustainable initiatives. Fellows also receive professional development support.
Each C8 Fellow had 5 minutes to present a new and creative project that utilizes ways to engage communities that have been traditionally underrepresented and underserved in STEM. Some of the projects presented were “PRe-search,” “Nexus Alternatives,” “Girls in Science Day,” “Animals ‘R’ Dope,” and “STEMKids.” We are so proud of their work during their time with SAi and are excited to see them excel in the future.
Special congratulations to all the SAi Fellows! Not able to watch live? Check out our video recap!
Keep an eye out for the next application cycle for our ninth cohort of SAi Fellows.
