Anagha KrishnanResident, Founder Track (2024) (Science Unlocked)
I am a passionate science advocate committed to providing high-quality science education to underserved communities. I am currently a PhD student in systems biology at the National Cancer Institute and the University of Oxford, and I previously earned a B.S. in biomedical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
With my co-founder Hannah Dada (also a Resident), I work on Science Unlocked—an initiative to bring hands-on science experiments to prison-impacted youth in Washington DC. Science Unlocked has run over twenty-five science demos (including microscopy, insect science, and strawberry DNA extraction) with over 250 incarcerated youth. This work, and my other science outreach efforts, have been recognized by the Clinton Foundation, Google, and Research!America.
When I am not conducting research or working on science outreach, I enjoy rock climbing, classical Indian music, and brewing the perfect cup of chai.
