Rose S. L. BasomResident, Founder Track; C6 SAi Fellow Alumni
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Sciences with a focus in Human Evolutionary Biology at Kent State University. I earn my B.S. in Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Physical Anthropology from Texas Tech University. My research is at the intersection of primate behavior, skeletal developmental morphology, and neurobiology to better understand human evolution. I am passionate about equity in K-12 education and have been involved with outreach for years, which is how STEMsapien Games was founded. This initiative was created to help address some of the biggest issues science educators face when trying to incorporate alternative teaching methods into their curricula: time and funding. Our mission is to increase accessibility to science-focused, board game-based learning in underserved urban and rural high schools.
When I’m not at the office, I love to play board games, try new recipes, and explore the local area with loved ones!
