Martina EfeyiniResident, Founder Track (2024) (The NEXT Scientist)

I am a science communicator, creative and STEM diversity education advocate. I earned my M.S. in toxicology from St. John’s University and B.S. in toxicology from The Pennsylvania State University. As a former Science News Civic Science Fellow my work focused on using science journalism to create a news media science product. Currently, I use storytelling, creativity, communication and a mix of multimedia styles to communicate science to various audiences. In addition, I am the Director and Founder of The NEXT Scientist, a digital platform and Resident with the goal of making science accessible and engaging. When I’m not doing cool science communication, I like to spend my time doing reformer Pilates, yoga, playing with style, doing hand embroidery, and trying new delicious plant-based vegan food.
