Dear Stakeholders,

On behalf of the entire SAi community, I am excited to share this report that provides a snapshot of our fiscal year 20 (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020).

Read the Report

It was a year of opportunity. A year of new challenges.
A year of perseverance.
A year of reflections.

A year of change.

We welcomed new residents and staff, made new connections, released new publications, secured new funding from donors and foundations, and hosted many events. The year allowed us to also sharpen our mission of enabling and accelerating the building of new tools programs that expand pathways of access between science and society.

The coronavirus pandemic in addition to the tragic killings of not just George Floyd, but several other African Americans, dramatically re-exposed the systemic issues of racism in America that can be found in all areas including science. It was and continues to be a reminder about the importance of our collective work in increasing access to science to underrepresented and underserved communities around the world.

Although we are grateful for the growth this past year, there is still a lot of work left. We continue to run a mostly volunteer based team and we are actively looking for new funding to support both our current and future SAi residents and their projects.

We are grateful to all of our stakeholders and are excited about the year ahead.
